About the poet
Robert Lee Frost ( March 26,1874 - January 29,1963 ) was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in the United State. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech. Frost frequently wrote about setting from rural life in New England in the early 20 century ,using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes.
About the poem
'fire and Ice' is a short poem by Robert Frost. Hindi poem, the poet refers to two predictions, of how the world will end. Some say it will end in fire whereas other say it will end in ice. According to the poet ' Fire' stands for desire, greed, avarice or lust. The more you try to satisfy them the more they grow. There is no end to it.

हिंदी : कवि संसार के अंत के विषय में दो प्रचलित विचार प्रस्तुत करता है। कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि संसार का अंत अग्नि से होगा और कुछ अन्य कहते हैं कि बर्फ संसार का अंत करेगा। कवि इच्छा को अग्नि के समान मानता है और कहता है कि असीमित इच्छा संसार के अंत का कारण बनेगी।
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And wuold surffice.
हिंदी : कवि ने कहा था की इच्छा, जोकि अग्नि की प्रतीक है, संसार का अंत करेगी। अब वह कहता है कि घृणा, जो की बर्फ की प्रतीक है, वह भी संसार के लिए उतनी ही हानिकारक है। कृष्णा की भांति घृणा भी संसार को नष्ट कर सकती हैं।
